Data protection

1. General

The University of Rouen Normandie is committed to respecting the privacy of individuals and to complying with current regulations on the protection of personal data when processing such data.

The main framework for this protection is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on May 25, 2018. This text aims to strengthen the rights of individuals over their personal data, both agents and users, and the obligations of the University as data controller. It is supplemented in France by the Loi informatique et libertés.

2. Site mesdemarches.univ-rouen.fr

As part of the mesdemarches.univ-rouen.fr website, the Université de Rouen Normandie may collect personal data about you when you browse the website (see cookies policy below), fill in a form or contact the University.

The University of Rouen Normandie does not collect personal data without informing you.

For any data concerning you collected on mesdemarches.univ-rouen.fr, you have the right to request access, rectification, deletion or portability of this data, to oppose its processing or request the limitation of its processing, to define directives concerning its fate after your death, or to withdraw your consent to the use of this data where applicable. These rights are applicable under the conditions set out in the General Data Protection Regulation and the French Data Protection Act.

1. How cookies work

A cookie is a small data file stored by your Internet browser on your terminal (e.g. computer, smartphone, etc.), in order to ensure the functioning of the website and to facilitate your navigation on the site.

2. Audience measurement cookies

How it works

The University of Rouen Normandie uses an audience measurement tool: Matomo (formerly Piwik), to measure and analyze website traffic with a view to improving the site and adapting it to visitors’ requests.

This tool collects information relating to the number of visits, the number of pages viewed, as well as the activity of visitors on the site and their frequency of return. Your IP address is also partially collected (deletion of the last byte) in order to determine the country and city from which the site is consulted.

All this data is stored in the Matomo tool for a maximum of 10 days.

The University of Rouen Normandie extracts these data from the tool in the form of statistics, in order to analyze them. The data retrieved is anonymous and no longer allows you to be identified.
This cookie is exempt from the collection of consent, in application of article 5 of the CNIL guidelines relating to cookies and other tracers (deliberation no. 2019-093 of July 4, 2019).

However, you have the option of objecting to the collection of your data via this tool.

3. On-board service cookies

Some pages on mesdemarches.univ-rouen.fr feature embedded content from the University’s social networks or other third-party sites. These services may use cookies to track your activity. The mesdemarches.univ-rouen.fr site uses tarteaucitron.js to give you control over which cookies are deposited on your terminal. A banner in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen or on your first visit to the site enables you to define your cookie preferences during browsing.
