The Parcoursup procedure
Step 1: Find out about training courses
- I consult the information sheets for the courses I’m interested in on Parcoursup and find out about their objectives, expectations and intake capacity.
- I think about where I can study and find out about the different campuses.
- I’m asking myself the right questions: What are the admission procedures? Which courses are “in demand”? What is a selective course?
Step 2: I register and formulate my wishes
- I register on the platform and formulate my wishes.
- I consult the Mission Information-Orientation and take part in the drop-in sessions to fine-tune my project.
- I take part in career guidance events such as Journée Portes Ouvertes and Campus Ouvert.
Step 3: I confirm my wishes
- I’m getting my answers gradually.
- I respond to admission proposals and manage my pending wishes.
- I take advantage of the complementary phase (mid-June) to formulate new wishes and build up a plan B if necessary.
What proposals can you receive from the University?
Responses to applications for selective training (B.U.T and integrated preparatory classes):
- On hold
- Yes
- No
Responses to applications for non-selective courses: (Licence, PASS):
- On hold
- Yes
- Yes-si: for example, the obligation to take part in tutoring sessions (advice on methodology, organization of work time, etc.) supervised by students from higher education courses; taking support courses supervised by teachers.
If, for reasons of capacity, the University cannot accept all applicants, priority will be given to those whose background, motivation and project are most consistent with the chosen course.
The rector may decide to accept a limited percentage of students from other academies.
Preparing your application to selective or high-voltage training courses
- Application expectations: these are the skills and aptitudes required for future students to succeed in each field. They are defined at national level and can be adapted locally. They enable each student to assess whether his or her profile is compatible with the course.
- Examination of applications: the elements taken into account in applications have been specified for each stream. For example, marks from the first and last years of secondary school, marks from the early baccalaureate exams, etc. These help to prepare the best possible application.
You will find all the information you need to formulate your wishes and submit your applications on the course descriptions on the Parcoursup platform.
Public reports: you can consult a wide range of information (number of applications, number of places, last applicant called, etc.) on last year’s Parcoursup procedure, for all programs at the University of Rouen Normandy. Consult them here.
