Resumption of studies – non baccalaureate holder

Are you returning to school and haven’t passed your baccalaureate?

The DAEU (Diplôme d’Accès aux Études Universitaires) is for you!

This national diploma, equivalent to the baccalauréat, is a real second chance if you left school without a bac.

The University of Rouen Normandie offers two DAEUs: A (literary) and B (scientific).

Registration conditions

Candidates who have interrupted their initial studies for at least 2 years and who meet one of the following conditions are admitted to enrol at the University with a view to obtaining this diploma:

  • be at least 20 years of age on October1 of the year in which the diploma is awarded, and have completed 2 years of full-time or part-time work for which social security contributions have been paid.
  • be at least 24 years old on October1st of the year in which the diploma is awarded

The following are treated as professional activity giving rise to social security contributions and for the corresponding duration: national service, any period devoted to bringing up a child, enrolment with France Travail, participation in a vocational training scheme for young people seeking employment or qualifications, the exercise of a high-level sporting activity within the meaning of law no. 84-610 of July 16, 1984.

DAEU A

  • Entry test (French, English, general knowledge)
  • Professional project

DAEU B

  • Good general knowledge, scientific knowledge of the second or final year of high school with scientific specialties
  • Level tests (French, mathematics)
  • Professional project

Registration calendar

1ère session: DAEU A and B

  • Information meeting: in June
  • Application deadline: end of August at the latest
  • Compulsory tests: early September
  • Test results and individual interview: during September
  • Training calendar: early October to early June

2e session: DAEU A (limited places)

  • Information meeting: in November
  • Application deadline: November at the latest
  • Compulsory tests: early December
  • Test results and individual interview: in December
  • Training calendar: early January to early June
